Charlie Parker
Charlie Parker (1920-1955) was an American saxophonist and composer, considered one of the creators of bebop and one of the most influential figures in the history of jazz. Nicknamed Bird, he revolutionized jazz with his speed, virtuosity and complex harmonic improvisations. Together with Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk, he developed an innovative style that broke with the structures of swing. Among his most emblematic compositions are Now’s the Time, Ornithology and Ko-Ko. Despite his short life, he left a legacy that transformed modern jazz and continues to inspire musicians around the world.
