Sonny Rollins
Sonny Rollins (1930- ) is an American tenor saxophonist, widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time. With a career spanning more than six decades, Rollins has been a key figure in the development of hard bop and modern jazz.
In his early years, he played with such greats as Miles Davis and Max Roach, and was noted for his virtuosity and creativity. Among his most influential albums are Saxophone Colossus and Way Out West. His style is characterized by long improvisations and an exceptional ability to explore melodies and harmonies.
Throughout his career, Rollins has continued to innovate and has remained active, winning numerous awards and recognition for his contribution to jazz.
