Keith Jarrett


Keith Jarrett (1945- ) is an American pianist and composer, known for his eclectic style spanning jazz, classical, and improvised music. Known for his virtuosity and sensitivity, he is one of the most influential pianists of his generation.


Throughout his career, he has recorded in both the jazz and classical music fields, with notable solo albums including The Köln Concert (1975), one of the best-selling live jazz albums of all time. He was also a member of the famed American Quartet and worked with such figures as Miles Davis and Charles Lloyd.


His style is characterized by deep improvisations, using both the jazz tradition and elements of minimalism and contemporary music. His legacy has left a lasting mark on the world of experimental music.
