Lester Young

Lester Young (1909-1959) was an American tenor saxophonist, widely regarded as one of the most influential in jazz history. With his smooth, melodic style, he became a key figure in the development of swing-era jazz and a role model for later generations of saxophonists.

Known for his relaxed tone and lyrical approach, Young was a decisive influence on musicians such as Stan Getz and John Coltrane. He was part of Count Basie's famous band, where his innovative improvisations and mastery of phrasing made him an icon.
